Witness

Moroni was a prophet of Jesus Christ who lived in 400 AD America and he was sure witness of Him. He is a witness that the Bible “which proceedeth forth from the mouth of the Jews” is true. He is a witness that Jesus is the very Messiah that the Jews rejected and that his salvation is for all peoples both Jew and Gentile. Listen to his final concluding message which he added to the record of his father Mormon:

38 And now I, Moroni, bid farewell unto the Gentiles, yea, and also unto my brethren whom I love, until we shall meet before the judgment-seat of Christ, where all men shall know that my garments are not spotted with your blood.
39 And then shall ye know that I have seen Jesus, and that he hath talked with me face to face, and that he told me in plain humility, even as a man telleth another in mine own language, concerning these things;
(Ether 12, Book of Mormon)

29 And God shall show unto you, that that which I have written is true.
30 And again I would exhort you that ye would come unto Christ, and lay hold upon every good gift, and touch not the evil gift, nor the unclean thing.
31 And awake, and arise from the dust, O Jerusalem; yea, and put on thy beautiful garments, O daughter of Zion; and strengthen thy stakes and enlarge thy borders forever, that thou mayest no more be confounded, that the covenants of the Eternal Father which he hath made unto thee, O house of Israel, may be fulfilled.
32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.
33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.
34 And now I bid unto all, farewell. I soon go to rest in the paradise of God, until my spirit and body shall again reunite, and I am brought forth triumphant through the air, to meet you before the pleasing bar of the great Jehovah, the Eternal Judge of both quick and dead. Amen.
(Moroni 10, Book of Mormon)

Now I, an Outcast of Israel write unto you Gentiles; all ye Mormons, Catholics, Baptists, Presbyterians, Methodist, other Christians, Muslims, Buddhist, agnostics, atheists etc. I write unto you who are the remnants of Joseph, even the Lamanites in the promised land and I write unto the Jews and those who are scattered throughout the world. I would invite you to examine the Book of Mormon and read it and ponder its message and if you do with a sincere heart, willing to let go of some of the traditions of your fathers which may not be 100% grounded in truth, you will come to know Jesus, not only what he did but who he truly is. I would invite you to feast upon this record for you will learn the things which you should do. You will draw closer to Christ and learn how to be perfected in Him.

The Lord has restored the fullness of his good news for our benefit. He has restored the covenants of the fathers so that our hearts may be turned to them, to receive what they received. He has restored the priesthood that allows us to enter the gate and to receive and live the Doctrine of Christ, even faith, repentance, the baptism of fire and the holy ghost. I would invite you to humble yourselves before God and ask him in prayer if these things are not true. The Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever and he still works by a mighty hand for he is a God of miracles. But only those who humble themselves as a little child can receive these things, can receive Christ. Please don’t let your religion stop you, don’t let your traditions stop you or limit your progression and reception of Christ and his truths. Please don’t let your religious traditions stop the increase in knowledge that the Lord is willing to give you. Don’t let apathy and ignorance stop you. If you think you have enough then you cannot be taught more. If you think the Bible is all of God’s word to his children you are placing limits on what He can do. If you think that all is well in your life because you are a member of the true church I would invite you to reconsider your state before God. If you think that Jesus was just a good moral teacher then there is perhaps more that this teacher can show you.

The heavens were opened in a miraculous way when the Lord began a marvelous work and a wonder to begin the restoration and restitution of all things, a time of refreshing, a time when the stagnant philosophies of men mingled with scripture were to be supplanted by the oracles of God. This was accomplished through a true prophet (even in the midst of so many false ones) who’s name was Joseph.  May we all be willing to receive what the Lord is willing to give us and let it begin with receiving more of His word into our lives.
